The Rheinland Lions are North Rheinland Westphalia’s Australian Football Club.

 

Based in Cologne, our men’s and women's teams play in the Australian Football League of Germany (AFLG).

The season runs from April to September culminating with a two week finals series.

​

AFLG has teams across Germany, including Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Kiel, Munich and Stuttgart. We also play friendlies against clubs from other nations, such as France and the Netherlands.

​

The club is a great mix of Australian and non-Australian expats who have found themselves living in Cologne and, of course, German locals who have discovered the game.

​

The Lions welcome players of all backgrounds and experience, and there’s a spot in our club for everyone.

​

As the unofficial club for Australian expats in the region, we’re are a social club and organise events and trips on weekends to our away games, so it's a great way to discover the rest of Germany, whether you are a player or not!
