It's Australia's most popular sport. It's fast. It's physical. It's exciting. The Rheinland Lions are one of Europe's top clubs and recruiting new players and social members for 2026. Whether you're an Aussie expat looking to connect with your compatriots, a German local or another international expat looking to embrace this incredible sport, we're ready to get you in the red, black and white!

The Rheinland Lions will hold two come-and-try days ahead of the season, but new players are welcome any time. 

​

We strongly recommend contacting the club via our Contact Form or Instagram to ensure you get information on sessions, and to be updated about cancellations due to weather or other unforeseen events!

Training Venues and Times

Winter Come-and-Try sessions

These are special sessions that are specifically designed for new players and members. You'll meet our regular players and learn the basic skills of footy - how to kick, pass and catch the ball; running techniques and basic on-field positions. Both sessions are at our winter training venue at Colonius Turm.

Can't make a come and try session? No worries. Just come along to one of our regular winter sessions at the Colonius-Turm.

Summer training (April to September):

Our regular season training takes place at Jahnwiese, home of F.C. Koln in Junkersdorf. Come along and join in!
