Round 3 saw the Rheinland Lions host Munich in a rematch of last year's semi final. Coming off the confidence-boosting win against Hamburg in Round 2, the Lions dominated early and took the lead into quarter time. But inaccuracy in front of goal continued into the second quarter, with Munich taking a two-goal lead into half-time after a low-scoring, brutal quarter.

Things went from bad to worse for the Lions with four players forced out with injury, allowing the Roos to kick away for the rest of the day.

The Lionesses knew they were up for a challenge too, hosting the Berlin Crocs and runners-up Munich Kangaroos on the same day.

After going down to the Crocs by a point last year, we were hopeful to finally secure a long-awaited victory, but it was heartbreak again. Despite opening an early lead, a five minute burst after half time put Berlin into the lead, which the Lions couldn't break despite dominating the rest of the quarter.

A return match following our Round 1 win over the Roos women, the Lions came out fighting in a highly contested game.

With only a few points in it at half time, the Lions managed to kick ahead in the slowest way possible. Inaccuracy in front of goal saw Rheinland prevail by seven points, mostly thanks to stray kicking in front of goals.
