This season the Rheinland Lions hosted the 2015 AFLG Grand Final. Due to a patchy season with ups and downs and some fundamental changes in team structure the Lions missed out on the GF this season. But then again they didn't. It was the Lions term to host the annual AFLG Grand Final and so the Lions did with pride and enthusiasm.
In a curtain-raiser game a Rheinland Team filled with young bloods faced a collaboration of Amsterdam Devils and Dresden Wolves. The game turned out to be a real eye turner and players as well as the spectators were well prepared for the soon to follow clash of Hamburg Dockers and Munich Kangaroos. At the end of the curtain raiser Dresden/Amsterdam were just that little bit more determined and decided the curtain-raiser in their favor.
The following Grand Final was a real jaw dropper as both teams, Munich as well as Hamburg started off with some fast paced, physical footy. Spectators were well entertained and the half-time score (which the author of these lines can't remember and is too lazy to look up) promised a real nail biter. Follwoing halftime break the Dockers didn’t take their foot of the paddle and continued as they did in the first two quarters. That pace and physical effort could not quite be matched by the Roos and saw them falling behind on the score board. After the siren went the AFLG named their new premiers 2015 - the Hamburg Dockers.
